Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly from the Kwara Central senatorial district have organized the first joint empowerment scheme for selected constituents in the area.
About 1,500 beneficiaries received N10,000 each during the event held at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin at the weekend.
Speaking during the presentation of the cash donations, one of the legislators, who is also the Leader of the Kwara state House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Oba Abdulkadir Magaji said that the empowerment scheme was organized to complement the efforts of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government in promoting sustainable development.
Magaji also said that the event demonstrated the unity and commitment of the Kwara Central House of Assembly members in supporting Governor Abdulrazaq’s efforts to deliver democracy dividends to every citizen.
Also speaking, Hon. Yunusa Oniboki (Afon Constituency), commended the development strides under Governor Abdulrazaq’s administration as well as the empowerment opportunities provided to constituents.

Hon. Gbenga Yusuf (Essa/Shawo/Igbo Idun constituency) appreciated the unity and strength shown by the Kwara Central House of Assembly members and their commitment to their constituents’ well-being.
According to Hon. Muhammad Musa (Patigi Constituency), he described the empowerment programme as timely and commendable, adding that it deserved recognition and appreciation.
Hon. Aishat Tundun Alanamu (Ilorin North/West Constituency) congratulated Kwarans on having Governor Abdulrazaq’s exemplary leadership and empathy.
Member representing Ilorin East Constituency, Hon. Fatimah Arinola LawalLawal, hailed Governor Abdulrazaq’s significant strides in various sectors, while she asked other House members from other regions to learn from their successes.
Hon. Maryam Yusuf Aladi (Ilorin South Constituency) thanked Almighty Allah and commended Governor Abdulrazaq’s support, “without which the event would not have been possible”.
Hon. Rukayat Shittu (Owode/Onire constituency) appreciated the attendees and urged beneficiaries to use the cash judiciously.
In their various remarks, beneficiaries described the programme as timely and prayed for Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman and the lawmakers.
