The Kwara State Government led by Mallam Abdularahaman Abdulrazaq has lauded the Ibolo Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture for enhancing the activities of the Government through advocacy for social-economic development in Ibolo land.

The ICCIMA council members led by the President, Mr. Paul Olagunju were applauded by Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi during a courtesy visit to his excellency on Tuesday, 9th of November 2022.

 

 

The Deputy Governor in his remarks noted that Mallam Abdurazaq-led government values the private sectors and will continue to prioritize it for sustainable growth and development in the state. He stressed on the value of peace as a major factor that enhances growth and development and tasked ICCIMA to work on the peaceful coexistence among the communities in Ibolo land. He added that no development can exist in the absence of peace.

 

 

Mr. Kayode Alabi further reiterated on state government’s commitment to addressing the demands of ICCIMA which include: farm investment security, provision of extension services to farmers and training on modern agric practices, Improve/Provision of agricultural facilities, Agro production loans to small holding farmers, availability of machinery, implements, and seedlings, Maintenance of rural and farm roads, creation of Agro Processing zone in Ibolo and Control of mining of mineral deposits activities to check the infiltration of illegal miners, Linkage/Opening up of towns and villages in Ibololand through good roads and siting of government institutions/industries, the urgent need to resuscitate existing moribund and ailing establishment within Ibolo land, such as the Technical College at Erinle, Ikotun Poultry, Paper Converter Industry, Plan to establish an Agro-Allied trade fair within Ibolo land that will lead to the area becoming a major agricultural export processing zone and support of growing SMEs with agricultural inputs such as fishing equipment, fertilizers, chemicals and support of growing SMEs with agricultural inputs such as fishing equipment, fertilizers, chemicals among others.

The Deputy Governor however noted that the residents living in Ibolo communities should not hesitate to report illegal mining activities to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

 

 

Earlier, the President of ICCIMA, Mr. Paul Olagunju lauded the Kwara Government’s effort towards the development of the state which he said is evidently seen in the various sustainable programs that cut across empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure, welfare, and agriculture that earned the state its leading status amongst the progressive Governors.

 

 

ICCIMA was midwifed by the Ibolo Peace Parley, the umbrella body of the communities within Offa/Oyun LGAs as a means of further building economic unity as well as advocate for better business environment for the Ibolo people. The 12 communities namely: Offa, Erin-Ile, Igosun, Ojoku, Ipee, Ira, Ijagbo, Ilemona, Igbawere, Ikotun, Igbonna, and Inaja came together to form ICCIMA.
