Nigerian rapper Ladipoe has revitalized Styl-Plus’ 2006 romantic classic ‘Olufunmi’ with a soulful refix that beautifully combines nostalgia and his unique lyrical style.
Released on Friday, the collaborative track features the Mavin Records artist adding thoughtful verses to the original chorus, resulting in a version that feels both new and nostalgic.

Lasting three minutes, the refix begins with Ladipoe’s smooth rap delivery, in which he expresses steadfast devotion to his lover, blending sharp wordplay with genuine emotion.

His verses strike a perfect balance between romance and cleverness, promising “never to love another woman” while playfully showcasing his lyrical skills.
“At least I follow your dress and your sizes/ That’s why I never wanna love another woman/ That’s why I know I’ll never love another woman/ That’s why I can never love another woman/ That’s why I think that’s cut cause I told my ex to/ If I love another woman I make it a verse too/ Then if we break up I’ll make that verse too/ I’m just playing with words baby don’t take it so personal,” he raps.
First released by Styl-Plus in 2006, ‘Olufunmi’ continues to be one of Nigeria’s most timeless love anthems.
The song reentered the spotlight last year when producer ID Cabasa sampled it for a remake featuring BOJ, Odumodublvck, Fireboy DML, and Joeboy.
Ladipoe’s refix adds a fresh chapter to the song’s legacy. Since joining Mavin Records as their first signed rapper in 2017, Ladipoe, whose full name is Ladipo Eso, has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most admired lyricists.
