Lagos State University of Science and Technology has fired three of its academic staff members over alleged sexual harassment within the institution.
INFORMATION NIGERIA learnt that the sacked lecturers include one Mr. Nurudeen Hassan from the Department of Mass Communication, Mr. Kareem Arigbabu and Mr. Olayinka Uthman from the Department of Arts & Design.
It was gathered that their dismissal follows an extensive investigation and disciplinary process carried out by the university’s Governing Council.

LASUSTECH’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Lanre Kuye, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.
He said that the move reflects the institution’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual harassment.

The statement reads: “The Governing Council of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has taken decisive action in response to allegations of sexual harassment involving three staff members. After a thorough investigation and deliberation, the council has approved the dismissal.
“The university takes allegations of sexual harassment seriously, as they compromise the institution’s image and disrupt the academic environment.
“The Governing Council’s decision reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful campus community.”
