Speaking to newsmen in Gusau shortly after his condolence visit to the affected communities, Hon Zubairu condemned the escalating banditry in the region. He highlighted that the bandits had recently attacked several communities, resulting in the kidnapping of over 100 individuals.
The lawmaker, who spent a night in the affected communities, lamented the impact of insecurity on socio-economic activities in the area. He expressed concern about the negative effects on the livelihoods of the inhabitants, emphasizing that the rising insecurity has led to increased socioeconomic hardship.
“I paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Dansadau and the district heads of Dankurmi, Bindin, and Dangulbi districts. You know, this is not the first time of my visit to these communities despite the challenges. I am not happy about how insecurity has negatively impacted the livelihoods of inhabitants in these communities, leading to increasing socioeconomic hardship,” said the lawmaker.
“Today, most of my constituents in the rural communities can no longer go to farms and engage in other day-to-day commercial activities,” Zubairu added.
As the representative for Maru and Bungudu Federal Constituency, Zubairu promised urgent intervention by the National Assembly to address the matter. During his visit, he directed the referral of all victims of the attack to Gusau and Kano for further treatment. He also ordered the supply of medical and health equipment to the renovated Dansadau General Hospital.
Furthermore, the lawmaker approved the construction of 50 boreholes across the five political wards of Dansadau Emirate. Additionally, he mandated the immediate construction of a Primary Health Centre and Primary School in Kuyambana ward.
