The Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold its neutrality and maintain impartiality in the conduct of elections in Nigeria.
He charged INEC and its officials not to be intimidated by those in position of authority during elections saying they will be accountable to God for whatever they do on the day of judgment.
He added that all INEC needed to do is maintain neutrality by doing what is good and what is right when election duty calls.
“I want to urge INEC that you have a responsibility not to Nigerians alone but to their God and that one day, they will have to account for their deeds.

“Therefore, there is need for neutrality in whatever they do.
“There is need for them in conduct of all elections to do their best and do what is right. That they should not be intimidated by any transient authority.
“Some of us have seen a lot of people coming into government and going. Today you can be anything, if you are not careful, you will be hiding and running from the EFCC.
“I want to say that those in position of authority today is transient so don’t fear them.
“Do what is right, please your God because if you do what is wrong, on the Day of Reckoning that person will not be there to save you.
“We know we’re the only political party in this country that the government and those other political parties fear because we are the only party that follows INEC rules.
“You can see that every quarter as enshrined in the Act establishing INEC, we promptly and in all circumstances organised NEC meeting that is well attended.
“And that is why you see everyone from all the strata of the society flocking into NNPP,” Galadima stated.
