The Osun Police Command has apprehended a 40-year-old man Akinola Lawrence for allegedly raping a speech-impaired minor.
The Nation learnt the incident that happened at the Anglican area, Ataoja in Osogbo around 7 pm last Thursday when the mother identified as Remilekun sent the 16-year-old girl an errand.
It was gathered that Lawrence forcefully dragged the minor behind a mosque in the area to rape her.
The spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, noting investigation has commenced and the suspect was arrested.
“The State Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the matter after that Lawrence will be charged to court.”
