A yet to be ascertained numbers of houses have been destroyed completely following an heavy downpour in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Speaking over the incident on Wednesday, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Nasir Idris, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, noted that the torrential rainfall, accompanied by strong winds, caused significant damage to properties worth millions of naira.
The Governor assured victims of the incident which happened on Tuesday that the Kebbi government would provide support, including building materials.

He also appealed for patience, promising that the state government would soon come to their aid.
He said: “The governor instructed me to visit and assess the extent of the destruction.
“The state government will respond rapidly with building materials, food items, and other relief supplies to cushion the impact. We thank God no life was lost.
