During his speech at the Thanksgiving service held at the church headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway recently, Olukoya noted that over 35 years, MFM has experienced remarkable growth, not only in numbers but also in impact. The church has become a symbol of hope and a catalyst for social change. Under his exceptional leadership, the ministry has expanded into new regions, establishing additional churches and outreach programs beyond Nigeria. His innovative approaches to evangelism and community service have been instrumental in this expansion.

The ministry’s influence has extended well beyond its initial scope, showcasing the transformative impact of its mission and the commitment of its leader. Pastor Olukoya described the ministry as a comprehensive resource for Christian growth, encompassing spiritual and physical aspects. He stated that the church serves as an ‘encyclopedia’ of what Christians need to thrive in their faith. The holistic approach is evident in the various educational programs and schools it offers, including the School of Biblical Studies, School of Ministry, School of Deliverance, School of Prayer, School of Prophets, School of Power and Healing, School of Spiritual Red Cross, School of Choral Music, and School of Evangelism and Church Planting.
Tribune Church gathered that the religious organisation is fully committed to providing dedicated members and external Christians with the necessary skills and knowledge for personal development, service, and effective Christian living. In addition to internal spiritual development programmes, the ministry has also been nurturing younger generations through its tertiary institution, the Mountain Top University (MTU), founded in 2015.
“The university aims to integrate academic excellence with spiritual growth, nurturing talents, and preparing students for effective Christian living and service,” Olukoya emphasised.
Anniversary highlight
The grand finale and thanksgiving service was attended by dignitaries such as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State. This event highlighted the profound impact of Pastor Olukoya’s ministry. It was marked by a wealth of transformative stories, including personal redemption, miraculous healings, and significant breakthroughs. These testimonies underscored Pastor Olukoya’s role not just as a leader, but as a beacon of hope and perseverance.
The church was abuzz when some foundational ministers and members who have contributed immensely to the church’s growth were celebrated.
In addition to his dedication to spiritual growth, Pastor Olukoya’s commitment to the younger generation was evident. At the celebration, 492 first-class graduates were honoured with awards of excellence. Pastor Olukoya emphasised that recognising the achievements of the youth was a key feature of the anniversary, aimed at showcasing the excellence of young people around the world.
Dr. Olukoya, renowned for his commitment to youth empowerment, revealed that he launched the award initiative in 2011 to honour exceptional academic achievements among students.
In the first year, he recognised 19 first-class graduates from various institutions by gifting each with a brand-new car. Subsequent years saw a significant increase in the number of awardees: 77 in the second year, 77 again in the third year, and 106 in the fourth year. By the fifth year, the number of recipients surged to 329.
As the number of high achievers grew, Dr Olukoya transitioned from giving cars to providing monetary awards, initially at N500,000 and later at N250,000 per recipient. He aimed to motivate students to pursue academic excellence and to illustrate the value of hard work. Under his guidance, MFM has reached a noteworthy milestone, boasting the largest number of first-class graduates among its students. Dr Olukoya is dedicated to inspiring young people to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
Gratitude to God for 35 years of achievements
Dr Olukoya and his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Folashade Olukoya, were the center of attention when they took the stage at Prayer City to express gratitude for God’s faithfulness in the church’s success story, accompanied by hymns.
Olukoya also expressed his gratitude and acknowledgment of divine intervention in the ministry’s journey to God.
His remarks emphasised a deep gratitude for the continuous grace and support that has been crucial in the ministry’s growth and impact.
“If not for the God of MFM, some people would not be alive today.”
Overall, the 35th anniversary was a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to spiritual and communal goals, both within the church and in the broader context of national unity.
