Transportation for Senior Special Advisers and Assistants in the Federal Ministry of Works for the 2025 fiscal year has been proposed and is awaiting approval from the National Assembly, with a sum of N2bn.

This was part of the document presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2025 budget, titled “Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity.”

The Minister of Works has proposed N2bn for the purchase of new vehicles for the aides of the minister to facilitate their movements as they execute their assignments.

The ministry’s 2025 budget includes a proposal of N2,475,000,000 (Two Billion Four Hundred and Seventy-Five Million Naira) for what is labeled as “Purchase of Motor Vehicles.”

Upon reviewing the 2025 budget document in the Ministry of Works’ proposal to the National Assembly, Nigerian Tribune can authoritatively report that, as part of the Renewed Hope agenda, the sum of N2bn (Two Billion Naira Only) has been proposed for transportation expenses for Senior Special Advisers in the ministry.

Another vehicle-related project in the 2025 proposed fiscal year expenditure is captured under the “ERGP 12232037” heading for the “Provision of Operational/Safety Vehicles for N120,000,000” (One Hundred and Twenty Million Naira Only).

The budget proposal, which was prepared with a budget of N15m as appropriated for in the currently running 2024 budget, has seen the same item increase in the 2025 proposal, with N50m proposed for the item with code 2021014.

In its determination to make the various projects being executed under the Renewed Hope agenda visible to the Nigerian public, the ministry has proposed the sum of N42.6m for approval by the National Assembly.

This amount is captured as “Visibility Programme/Media on Federal Government Roads Construction Ongoing: N42,670,000 (Forty-Two Million Six Hundred and Seventy Thousand Naira Only).”

As part of measures to ensure the availability of water at the Mabushi Headquarters of the Ministry of Works, the sum of N10,000,000 has been proposed for a new project in the document before the National Assembly.

The proposal, under the Economic Recovery Growth Programme (ERGP), reads: “ERGP, 12232042, Rehabilitation of Boreholes and Tanks at Minister’s Block.”

It is listed as one of the over 900 “New” projects captured in the budget document.
