The traditional ruler of Owa kingdom in Delta state, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 has decried the act whereby unknown persons visit the public cemeteries in the area at odd hours to exhume dead bodies from the graves and dismember their vital organs.

The monarch who disclosed this at the end-of-year interactive meeting with members of Owa community in his Palace at Owa Oyibu warned that the unwholesome act must stop forthwith.

According to the immediate past Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, a high-powered investigative panel has been constituted to investigate and carry out surveillance adding that anyone found culpable would be made to face the full weight of the law no matter, how highly placed.

The annual Owa Community Council meeting is a forum designed to appraise development, challenges, prospects and way forward to advance the kingdom.

Obi Efeizomor commended the security agents for their efforts at ensuring the peace and security of the kingdom and enjoined them to step up efforts towards stamping out the menace of herdsmen’s attack on crops and farmers in Owa land and its environment.

While calling for vigilance and security consciousness in order to minimize incidents of crime in the area during the yuletide, Obi Efezomor enjoined residents especially youths to shun the get-rich-quick syndrome known as Yahoo which was dangerously creeping into Owa community even as he urged parents to check the excesses of their children and wards during the yuletide.

The monarch also called for increased patronage of the Mother and Child Hospital in Owa Alero by residents to justify the huge investment in the multi-million naira project by the Delta State Government.

The foremost royal father condemned the increasing rate of motorcycle accidents in the area and tasked motorcycle riders popularly known as Okada to take precautions to reduce the rate of accidents in the area.

In a communique at the end of the meeting however, the Owa Community Council expressed appreciation to the immediate past Governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the development of Owa Kingdom and other communities across the State praying God to continue to protect him and his family.

The council challenged sons and daughters of the kingdom in positions of authority, all over the world to contribute their quota to the speedy socio-economic and infrastructural development of Owa.

It advised those constructing unauthorized speed breakers in Owa Oyibu and Owa-Alero to desist from doing so in their own interest to avert the wrath of the law.

Special prayers were also offered for good health, long life, and wisdom for the Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 in piloting the affairs of kingdom and for peace, security and continued development of the kingdom.
