Traditional rulers of the host communities of ANOH PTF, Assa Gas plant Ohaji in Ohaji/Egbema Council Areas of Imo have pledged their strong support in the protection of the facilities in their domain
The monarchs commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for choosing Assa among other communities in the country for the project.
In a chat with HRH Eze Emmanuel Assor- the traditional ruler of the Assa autonomous community, he expressed joy for seeing the project come through with the formal commissioning by President Ahmed Tinubu
He expressed joy that the Gas plant established in his domain will certainly create jobs and employment opportunities for the teaming youths and enhance structural development in the area.
Assor advised the company to endeavour to reciprocate the kind gesture demonstrated by the communities.
Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom Ohaji, HRM Eze Matthew Chiedoziem Nwokoma expressed the joy of the people of his kingdom adding that by the commissioning the gas plant, President Tinubu simply shown that he was not joking when he talked about the issue concerning empowerment and gas protection.
While welcoming the commissioning of the project, the monarch assured of the protection of the facilities by the youth in the area to avoid any threat of vandalization of the place
He said: “we want to assure Nigerians that the youths are ready having welcomed the project to give the place adequate security to avoid destructions”.
The monarch used the interview to urge the company to provide jobs for the qualified youths of the communities adding that the people of Ohaji have everything to offer both graduates and those with great hand work that qualified them to be engaged in the company.
The traditional ruler of Obitti Autonomous, Ohaji, Imo State, HRM Eze Emmanuel Odunze while commending Mr. President for the establishment of the gas plant in Assa oil reach the community, he pleaded passionately to the oil companies to rise up to their social cooperate responsibilities by engaging unemployed indigenes of the areas as well as provide social amenities such as roads, schools, hospitals and electricity among others.
He also beckoned on Governor Hope Uzodimma to look into some of the shortchanging going on in the company against communities to resolve it for the good of the people of the oil-producing communities and Imo state in general.
He said: “one thing is to site a project in an area, another thing is to allow people access to the area and that has being out problem”.
