A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo state, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, has expressed his commitment towards bringing a new dawn of hope and prosperity to residents of the state if elected as governor in the elections.

Akingboye who made this known during the official declaration and presentation of his intent form to leaders of the party, promised to run a populist government that would give priority to the welfare of the residents that will herald a new dawn in the governance of Ondo State.

The gubernatorial candidate, who also promised to correct all the abnormalities and wrongs in the state said his aspiration and expected nomination as party candidate will herald a new dawn in the governance of Ondo State.

He assured the people of the state of his readiness to deliver more dividends of democracy to the electorate through the execution of meaningful developmental projects that would directly benefit their lives, especially the common man if elected as the state governor.

He said he is not just seeking political power for the sake of power, but as a servant leader committed to the upliftment and empowerment of every citizen of the state.

“I do not seek political power for the lure of the office, self-aggrandisement or pecuniary gains of myself or family members but to create a new vista, broaden the state’s economic base, cut the cost of governance, prioritise the welfare of the people and target rampant poverty. I will make the state safe, sane and secure for all its law-abiding residents”

He stated that his team will turn around the fortune of the state within a short period, saying “We have two solutions to the state’s challenges, immediate and long term.

“The immediate term solution is that we will look at agriculture and see those products that can easily generate returns within three months, six months and one year.

“We are going to look at the economic aspect of the budget, especially capital projects. I am going to divide my capital projects into two: we will have the social and economic aspects”

He emphasized his belief in the power of unity and collaboration in driving meaningful change and development in the state.

The State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Tola Alabere while speaking, assured that the party will create a level playground for all the aspirants vying for the ticket of the party in the forthcoming election.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, emphasising the need for unity and cohesion in the party to achieve its collective goals to send out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state

One of the party leaders, Jeffrey Abidoye commended Akingboye for his integrity, dedication, and vision for the state, and expressed belief in Akingboye’s unwavering commitment towards the welfare of the people and his ability to lead the state to greater heights.

He urged the party members to rally behind Akingboye’s vision for a more prosperous and equitable future for all citizens, saying Akingboye’s official declaration heralds a new era in Ondo State politics.

“This marks by a renewed sense of hope, unity, and determination to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future for all” he stated.
