THE National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has advised the general public against paying money into any personal or company account to award contracts or carry out any transaction with the Commission.
It stressed that neither the Office of the Commissioner for Insurance nor the person of Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin will, for any reason, solicit or request any individual or group of individuals to pay money into any personal or company account for contract awards.
In a statement, Abba HalilInuwa, Head of Corporate Affairs of the National Insurance Commission said, “The Commission or its Management is therefore not responsible for any transaction(s) involving payment made by any company or individual via social media platforms without authentication.
“All transactions with the National Insurance Commission must be made through Remita platform. We urge anybody contacted by these individuals to report to the relevant security agencies immediately”.
The Management of NAICOM condemned the activities of some unscrupulous individuals using the name and office of the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, to defraud innocent individuals of their hard-earned income in the guise of awarding contracts and other promises via various social media platforms.
