The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone C has commended the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barr. Pius Ukeyima Akutah, for his reforms in the maritime industry and stellar performance in the last year in office.

The students were particularly excited about the significant progress made in the transformation of the Council, promoting fair trade practices while protecting the interests of shippers, leading to significant contributions to the nation’s economy.

NANS Zone C Coordinator, Daniel Friday-Egga, noted in a statement in Abuja that Akutah’s commitment to excellence and passion for progress have been the driving forces behind the council’s success.

While congratulating him on his one-year anniversary in office, Friday-Egga said an independent investigation by NANS Zone C revealed key achievements during CEO Akutah’s tenure, including the activation of the cargo tracking note, a game-changer in the maritime industry.

He added that Akutah also ensured the implementation of an electronic traffic system, enhancing efficiency, reducing congestion, promoting port efficiency, and reducing clearance times, as well as engaging robustly with stakeholders and fostering collaboration to drive industry growth.

“This milestone marks a year of transformative leadership, innovative initiatives, and unwavering dedication to the growth and development of the maritime industry in Nigeria.

“Under CEO Akutah’s visionary leadership, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council has made significant strides in promoting fair trade practices, protecting the interests of shippers and other stakeholders, and contributing to the country’s economic growth,” he stated.
