The National Association of Osun State Students, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to probe the sporadic shooting by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC in Osogbo yesterday where two people were allegedly killed.
NAOSS President in a statement by his Media Adviser, Jamiu Omoniyi condemned the activities of the security agents said to be aids of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
The students leader noted that the youth and students of the state can not condone politics of bitterness that will amount to loss of life and property in the peaceful state of Osun.
They however threatened to confront Aregbesola and the NSCDC in the spirit of Aluta if they both repeat such criminality.
The statement read in part, “The life of our dear osun youths is precious to us and we will not condone politics of bitterness at the expense of Osun Youth and students who are the future of the state.
“We ask Federal Government to as a matter of urgency probe the act of criminal shooting exhibited by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps in parts of osun state.
“How can NSCDC meant to protect life are taking lives of innocent Osun people.
“Their sporadic shootings at the good people of Osun are alarming and call for immediate action by the Federal Government to put a stop to it.
“We have it on good authority from several quarters how NSCDC officials shoot at people all in Osogbo, then capital of Osun State yesterday evening.
“There were insinuations too that the recent Oranmiyan House shooting was perpetrated by NSCDC who have turned into political weapons.
“On this Note we’re sounding note of warning to the security agency to desist from that act or face the wrath of Aluta.
“It is so disheartening to see the Federal Minister of Interior who served in the state earlier and claimed to love the state to have been the principal of these shooters all in the name of politics. The sledgehammer of Aluta do not fear Traitor, Aregbesola should remember”.
