The future of the youth in Nigeria is in danger as they are advancing in age every day without having anything to survive on. The proliferation of crime in the country is dangerous, vas the youth are looking for ways to survive at all costs without considering the havoc that it will wreak on the society at large!
Those who had painstakingly trained their wards from kindergarten to university are now bitterly complaining as some of the graduates affected cannot live independent lives as a result of their joblessness.
The fact is that idleness leads to abject poverty and retrogression in everything! In some organisations, the age limit for fresh graduates could be 25 years old, whereas, we had many job seekers who are over 40 years in the just concluded Oyo State civil service recruitment exercise.
The irony of the matter is that those who are elderly in government organisations, whether state or federal, are reducing their ages for the fear of unknown after disengaging from service. Such habit has negative effects on our youth who are still agile and can contribute their quota to national development. The most pertinent issue that should be prioritised by our leaders and those who are in positions of authority is the provision of good jobs for the masses. The companies that have collapsed should be resuscitated in order for the young graduates across the country to be gainfully employed.
