Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) security contractor, Wis South-Security Limited, has commissioned two hundred personnel with a charge to protect its facilities, installations, fight crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism across the Niger Delta region.

The graduands drawn from the eight Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State, are said to have undergone intensive training to straighten and equip the already existing officers to assist other security agencies in protecting critical national assets.

The passing-out parade which took place at the Wis-South Security Limited headquarters in Yenagoa, had in attendance top management and rank and file of the security.

In his charge, Chief Executive Officer of Wis-South Security Limited, Chief Wisdom Owo, who admonished them to be good ambassadors of the company, urged them to adhere strictly to the ethics of modern policing while discharging their primary assignment.

Chief Owo who is also the CJTF Regional Commandant warned against all forms of corruption as well as being guided with the core values of the military such as, respect to superiors, discipline, loyalty, integrity and patriotism.

Represented by Warrant Officer Bonus Owortimi, Chief Owo noted that the Niger Delta region was certain that the officers had been trained both academically and professionally to impact positively on the security architecture of the area.

He encouraged them to put the nation at heart and handle their assignments with utmost dedication and commitment while keeping the flag of Wis South-Security flying.

Also speaking, Director of Operation, Chief Womotimi Apaingolo, congratulated them for a successful graduation and appealed to the officers to stay vigilant to the ideals of the security outfit geared towards ensuring effective service delivery.

Chief Apaingolo, admonished them to place the protection of NNPCL above board, used the medium to appreciate Governor Douye Diri for using all the security apparatus to stem the tide of insecurity.

In his part, Director of Public Relations and Information, Mr John Etekpe, warned miscreant and mischief makers to steer clear of all NNPCL facilities and installations saying any one caught will face the full weight of the law.

Mr Etekpe also advised them to complement the effort of other security agencies to secure lives and property of its citizenty as well as NNPCL’s investment in the Niger Delta Region to attract more investors.

The Director of Information, who noted that the officers are critical stakeholders in the security space, challenged them to be passionate about their job and maintain a positive energy while handling the public.
