A House of Representatives member representing Lavun/Mokwa and Edati Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Abuja, on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Joshua Audu Gana, has donated a block of six classrooms to the Tswagba community in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the lawmaker, who is also the son of a former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, inaugurated the multi-million-naira project on Sunday.
During the ceremony, Dr. Audu Gana explained that the project was part of his efforts to restore the lost glory of education in the area, Niger State in particular, and Nigeria in general.
According to him, the responsibility of providing quality education to Nigerians should not be left to the government alone. He urged Nigerians to complement governmental efforts in funding education.
He said: “I’m fulfilled seeing our children receiving education in a conducive environment,” stressing that the project fulfilled his promise to his constituents and complemented the efforts of the state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, in advancing the education sector in Niger State.
