As the nation sets to mark its 64th Independence Anniversary, the President of the Christ Apostolic Church, (Supreme Council) Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Henry Ojo has submitted that it deserves courageous leadership to effect the change desired by the masses.

The Cleric made the submission at the ordination of 682 Pastors to round off the 2024 Annual General Convention of the Church at Alasepe, Ikire, Osun state on Sunday.

Ojo who attributed the economic woes bedeviling the country to bad leadership submitted that the nation is economically backward even at 64.

His words, “Time has come for the leadership of the country to have a re-think and exhibit love for the country.

“Nigerians are becoming tired of the leadership of the country because of the disappointment they had experienced and still experiencing.

“When the Military was on the throne, we clamoured for democracy. After, a lots of struggle, fight, we eventually got the desired democracy but unfortunately things have not changed for better since then.

“We need a leader that will hold the bull by the horn and bring a desired change to this country.

“Africa as a continent has leadership problem but I am of the opinion that Nigeria ought to have grown past its present stage if the leadership is focused.”

In another development, the Cleric has berated some Ministers of God that have turned the Ministry into a money making venture.

He told the newly ordained Pastors that the essence of their callings is to win souls for the kingdom not enrichment of their pockets.

According to him, “The 682 ordinand are answerable to the callings of God as it is stated in the Scriptures that “Harvest is plenty but labourers are few. Pray to the Lord of harvest so that he can send labourers.

“These men are the answered to prayers of the Saints of many years, asking the Lord for the labourers in order to have a bountiful harvest.

“However, they should not see their callings as means of amassing wealth, as means of having food on their respective tables but as means of gathering souls into the kingdom of God.”
