The grassroots socio-cultural movement, the Nigerian Liberty Movements (NLM), has expressed concern over the widespread poverty in Nigeria despite the country’s abundant human and natural resources.
In a statement issued after a recent meeting in Abuja, Comrade Peace John, National Secretary of NLM, highlighted the nation’s paradox.
He said, “Despite its vast resources, the country is still plagued by a multitude of challenges that have hindered its progress.”
These challenges include endemic corruption, economic instability, inadequate public infrastructure, ethnic conflicts, and social inequalities.
John noted, “The nation’s citizens have been subjected to untold hardships, limiting their access to basic services such as healthcare, education, and a decent standard of living.
“Moreover, the country has witnessed an exodus of talented individuals as they seek better opportunities abroad due to the lack of opportunities at home.”
The NLM is dedicated to driving positive change in Nigeria. John emphasised, “We understand the pain and suffering caused by the current oppressive leadership and their regressive policies.
“However, we firmly believe that a new era is on the horizon, led by a young, innovative, and highly qualified leader named Dr. Adebisi.”
He continued, “The Nigerian Liberty Movement’s primary goal is to eradicate the hardships faced by Nigerians daily.
“We understand the importance of fostering development, job creation, improved infrastructure, and a fair and just society. Under the national leadership of ThisDaysMoses, we will work tirelessly to bring about these positive changes.”
Dr. Moses Olusoji Adebisi, also known as ThisDaysMoses and Founder of NLM, shared his perspective on the current hardships.
He stated, “The hardship Nigerians are presently facing is caused by a group of Nigerians who mismanaged our resources previously. Therefore, another set of compassionate managers of our resources is needed to free the people from hardship through the Nigerian Liberty Movement.”
Dr. Adebisi reiterated the movement’s commitment to paving the way for a new era of progressive leadership and development, asserting that the NLM is poised to make a significant impact on Nigeria’s future.
