Spotify has announced Chidozie Ugochinyere, popularly known as “Fave”, as its EQUAL Africa artist for November 2024. This recognition highlights Fave’s captivating voice, thought-provoking lyrics, and distinctive style, cementing her position in Nigeria’s music scene.
Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, praised Fave, saying, “We’re thrilled to celebrate Fave as part of the EQUAL Africa programme. Her soulful voice and compelling lyrics have resonated globally, showcasing Africa’s vibrant music talent.”
Fave gained widespread attention with her 2020 viral hit “N.B.U.” and has since released chart-topping singles and acclaimed projects, including her debut EP “Riddim 5” and upcoming release “Dutty Love” (November 7). Collaborations with Nigerian music icons Olamide, Simi, Phyno, and Davido have solidified her reputation.
Notably, Fave’s feature on Davido’s “Kante” from the Timeless album ranked among Spotify’s Top 10 most-streamed songs in Nigeria for 2023.
The EQUAL Africa programme amplifies African artistes’ voices, showcasing their art to broader audiences. Fave’s selection demonstrates Spotify’s commitment to promoting African music talent.

With this recognition, Fave joins the growing list of talented African artistes celebrated through Spotify’s EQUAL Africa initiative.
