The multimedia industry in the African-American community recently got a huge boost as ace Nigerian events guru, Olasunkanmi Olanrewaju, officially launched his firm, Signal Media Links International.
Olanrewaju, known as Asiwaju Ola or Signal, unveiled the world class multimedia company in preparation for the maiden edition of the All African Festival U.S.A. 2024.
It was a top-class celebration with friends and associates of varied nationalities in attendance.
Speaking with newsmen, Olasunkanmi took a retrospective look at the journey while counting the cost in achieving such grandeur vision.
He said, “the company is not just for event merriment or media relation alone, but to align Africans in America and to bridge the gaps of inequality in urban and rural areas of the United States of America.”
He highlighted the significance of the company and his plans of hosting the All African Festival-USA in the summer of 2024, adding yhat “by October 2023, Signal Media Links International will launch the Pan African Diaspora (PADI) Magazine as well as the Pan African Diaspora (PADI) television channel on cable and internet television for viewers across the world to access live and genuine happenings within the African communities in the United States of America right in the comfort of their homes and via their mobile devices.”
According to him, “by September 2023, we will launch ‘Buy Direct’ business apps, which is an online buying and selling platform to connect home based and diaspora Africans. The apps will be a smooth and guaranteed transactional point for Africans to buy their local products and food stuffs directly from vendors in Africa and get it delivered to their doorsteps in America with no stress.”
He appreciated the African Union, the Pan Africanism Circus of America, NDSBDC, All African Indigenous Groups, the American Chamber of Commerce, Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association, NBC Network and others for their support.
Before kick-starting his international journey, he was the originator of many well known events in Nigeria, including the ‘Face of Tourism Reality Contest’ Oyo, Ogun and Ondo states, Oyo Festival 2009, Miss Tourism Oyo and Ogun states, Ibadan Youth Mega Carnival, Remo Empire Carnival and many more.
He played a major role with other reputable Nigerian and international companies to host the first edition of Mare Carnival in Ondo state, Miss Nigeria Entertainment TV Reality show 2008 at Obudu Cattle Ranch in Cross River state, the Nigeria Entertainment Award, Miss Ojude Oba of Ijebu land Beauty pageant just to mention but few.
His streak of successes are traceable to his name as the publisher of many campus and society magazines.
Olasunkanmi is well connected and respected in Nigeria and the West African entertainment circles.
