Nine months after, Oyo AAC demands incident report

Nine months after bomb blast at Bodija, Ibadan, the Oyo state chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC), has demanded report of the incident.

Recall that the incident which occurred on 21st of January created panic among residents while Oyo state government promised to investigate and report after nine months of the bomb blast.

In a statement signed by the AAC party chairman, Oyo state chapter, Kayode Babyomi on Wednesday, the party called out the government to give a public report on the causes of the blast and as well reveal perpetrators behind the explosion which had lead to the destruction of properties worth of millions of naira had left many homeless.

“We are calling out Oyo state governor, Governor Makinde to give a comprehensive report of this incident, within 7 days . We need to know the cause? Who are those involved? What type of explosive devices were kept in the building?

“The governor had promised that all reports would be taken and fully investigated, 9 months later, nothing has been said about it, and nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“On normal circumstances it should not take more than a month to figure out the exact cause and the circumstances behind the incident, but unfortunately until today residents are yet to know those behind the blast.

“We, as the voice of the people of oyo state, we are calling out the Makinde-led PDP administration to immediately release the report of the incident if there is any. we are giving the government 7-day ultimatum to come up with a clear report of the bomb blast and how he has been helping the affected residents. The African Action Congress (AAC) remains the only party for the people of Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole. Signed Kayode Babayomi Oyo state chair.” he noted.
