The National Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly urged the government to swiftly reverse the recent hike in petrol prices across Nigeria.
This demand was made through a post on the NLC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday.
The statement reads, “We demand the immediate reversal of the latest increase in the pump price of PMS across the country.”

Recall that the NLC previously expressed disappointment with President Bola Tinubu after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) raised the official fuel price from N617 to N897 per litre.
NLC President Joe Ajaero explained that the union agreed to the N70,000 minimum wage on the condition that there would be no further increase in fuel prices.
He also warned that the NLC’s decision-making bodies will soon convene to discuss further actions, and their decisions will be made public in the coming days.
