The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has directed its branches across the 36 states of the federation to begin mobilisation for industrial action over the persistent cash crunch crisis in the country.
NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, who briefed journalists in Abuja on Wednesday after, said mobilisation will commence on Friday while the total shutdown of economic activities across the nation will begin on Wednesday next week.
Recall that NLC on March 13, gave a 7 days ultimatum to the Federal government, asking it to take immediate action to cushion the biting cash and fuel scarcity crisis, or face industrial action by Nigerian workers.
Ajaero said the industrial action became the last resolve of the Congress, having urged the Federal government through different channels to take into consideration the severe hardship workers and Nigerian citizens are experiencing because of the persistent cash crunch.
