In a poignant Instagram post on March 6, Nigerian freelance television presenter and actress Michelle Dede opened up about a harrowing experience that shook her to her core.
What began as an anticipation for the promising prospects of the new year swiftly turned into a battle for her life.
Dede revealed that, amidst her excitement for an upcoming role in a Netflix series, she was suddenly rushed to the hospital in January, bleeding profusely.
“One day in January, I’m excited about what the new year holds and getting ready to be on a Netflix series; the next, I’m being rushed to hospital bleeding profusely, then a week later being told they may have to amputate my leg,” she wrote.
However, in a testament to faith, Dede proclaimed that divine intervention spared her from such a fate, as she acknowledged God’s presence throughout her ordeal. “Like he did in the past 3 years, God said not today!” she affirmed.
Dede explained that the journey through January was fraught with tears, pain, and denial as she grappled with the physical and emotional toll of her health crisis.
Hospitalised and facing the daunting task of learning to walk again, she navigated through the darkest moments with determination.
Expressing gratitude to her supporters, Dede extended heartfelt appreciation to those who stood by her side during her darkest hour.
“Grateful to God and thankful to everyone who constantly checked up on me, came to visit me in the hospital and at home, and especially thankful to and for @NajiteDede, who took care of me like I was a child for almost a month,” she expressed.
