A black Toyota Hilux assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, was reported stolen while the vehicle’s occupant attended Juma’at prayers on Friday, April 12, 2025, in Abuja.
The vehicle had been parked around 1:05 p.m. opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10, while the official attended prayers at a nearby mosque.

The theft was discovered shortly after the ONSA official returned to find the vehicle missing.

The incident was immediately reported to the Garki Police Division around 2:00 p.m., leading to a swift law enforcement response.
Authorities quickly launched a stop-and-search operation across various checkpoints and key entry and exit points in the capital city to locate the vehicle and apprehend the culprits.
According to security source, Zagazola Makama on Friday he disclosed: “As soon as the incident occurred, the theft was promptly reported to the Garki Police Division at approximately 2:00 p.m.,” the source stated, adding that this led to a swift response by law enforcement.
The FCT Police Command has confirmed that investigations are underway, and all efforts are being made to recover the stolen vehicle and bring those responsible to justice.
This incident, which occurred in a busy area during a public gathering, has raised serious concerns regarding security in the city.
As the search continues, police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
Attempt by Information Nigeria to seek comment from the FCT Police Command, proved abortive as the spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, didn’t respond to calls and messages sent to her as at the time of filing this report.
