The Zamfara State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested seven suspects, including a 70-year-old individual, for the alleged vandalism of public property in the state.
The command has also recovered 10mm iron rods, 11 shovels, 6 diggers, machetes, holes, and hammers from the suspects in the state.
Parading the suspects on Monday evening at the command headquarters in Gusau, the Zamfara State Commandant of NSCDC, Sani Mustafa, said the suspects were arrested for contravening the Sharia penal code in the state.
Commandant Sani Mustapha affirmed that, in his resilient efforts to purge the state of all forms of criminality, the Corps has made arrests with exhibits recovered.
According to Commandant Sani Mustafa, who was represented by the Command Public Relations Officer SC Ikor Oche, disclosed that the suspects were arrested around Samaru and Mailaina garage in Gusau metropolis.
He said seven suspects were arrested, including a 70-year-old, Sani Abubakar, with exhibits such as bunches of iron rods, diggers, shovels, machetes, holes, and hammers recovered in the state.

He assured that Zamfara NSCDC under Commandant Sani Mustafa would not relent in his efforts to sanitize the state and fight crime and other heinous activities.
The NSCDC Commandant, however, warned all criminal elements to desist from anything that contravenes the administrative policies of the state.
