The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has said operatives of the corps, on Thursday, arrested and handed over suspected drug dealers to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, officials in the FCT.
ASC Okomanyi Comfort, Corps Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Friday, said the FCT commandant of the corps, Dr Peter Maigari, handed over four (4) suspected drug dealers to the FCT Commander of NDLEA.
According to him, the FCT commander of NDLEA, represented by the Deputy Commander Ayodeji .O. Asa, received the four suspects: Samala Salisu 20 years, Hamidu Musa 27 years, Nura Saidu 40 years and Nura Aliyu 45 years old.
He said the four suspected drug dealers were apprehended while engaging in the sale of illegal drugs and substances.
According to him, the suspects were arrested by the CG’s response team, in conjunction with the FCT Intelligence response team on patrol in Karu, Mararaba axis of the territory.
The arrest, he said, became possible due to public collaboration through information given to the corps, just as he further pleaded with the general public to always disclose useful information to the corps about the activities of criminals and other illicit drug suspects.
Confirming the arrest and handover of the suspects, Ayodeji said the two agencies had synergized in different ways, adding that further investigations would be carried out, alongside testing and weighing of the substances, and those who are culpable will be prosecuted accordingly. Continue Reading
