No fewer than 46 new corporate members have been inducted into the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ibadan branch.

Speaking during the induction ceremony held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Chairman, NSE, Ibadan branch, Ibraheem Folarin Bello, said: “The contributions of engineers are evident in every aspect of our daily lives, from the infrastructure we rely on to the innovations that drive our economy.

“It is through our collective efforts that we continue to advance the engineering profession and make meaningful impacts on our communities.

“To our new corporate members, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Your induction today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your professional journey.

“As you join the ranks of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, I encourage you to embrace the responsibilities that come with this honour.

“I pray that your contributions further strengthen our branch and the engineering profession as a whole.”

Appreciating the immediate past exco members of the NSE Ibadan branch, Bello said: “I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to the outgoing exco members of the NSE Ibadan branch for their unwavering dedication and service to our branch.

“Your efforts have laid a strong foundation for the continued growth and success of the Ibadan branch.

“Finally, I extend my sincere thanks to all our elders, sponsors, partners, and everyone who has worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Your support is invaluable, and it is through collaborations like these that we are able to achieve our goals.”

In his charge to the inductees, the Guest Speaker and former Dean, Faculty of Technology, University of Ibadan, Professor Ayodeji Emmanuel Oluleye, told them to acquire more skills if they want to stay relevant in their chosen careers.

“You must try as much as possible to update your knowledge. If you stay five years without updating the knowledge you acquired in the university, you will discover that you will be irrelevant and you will not be reckoned with.

“Therefore, I urge you to do whatever you can to update your knowledge in order for you to advance your career.”
