The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Itire-Ikate Branch, has honoured the chairman of the district, Hon Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, with the Global Leadership Award for Youth Development.
The honour, according to the coordinator of NYCN, Comrade Oshodi John Ayodele is in recognition of his unwavering commitment to implementing youth development policies and programs in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Itire-Ikate.
He stated that the contributions and infrastructure projects embarked upon by Apatira-led administration have significantly impacted the lives of residents particularly the youths in the community.
Speaking at the reception, Ayodele said, “The NYCN is committed to promoting welfare and youth inclusiveness and this, we have found to be the hallmark of Apatira’s administration. His policies are targeted at empowering the youth and also providing enabling environment for sustainable growth and development in line with the United nations Sustainable development goals in the district.
“The honour is an award that recognises the outstanding contributions of the council chairman to empowering young people through innovative initiatives and programs. It acknowledges his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and development in the community.
“Apatira’s administration has implemented various youth-focused projects, including education, skills training, and entrepreneurship programs. His leadership has created opportunities for youths to thrive and become active contributors to their communities.
“This recognition reinforces Apatira’s dedication to empowering young people and fostering a brighter future for Itire-Ikate LCDA. His commitment to youth development serves as a model for leaders across Nigeria.”
Apatira commended the youth Council for the honour while pledging his administration’s continued investment in life changing projects.
