The coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Itire-Ikate Chapter, Comrade Oshodi John Ayodele has been honoured with distinguished Youth leadership award.
The award was presented by the Centre for Leadership and Creative Entrepreneurs in Africa (CLCEA) at an elaborate event held at Yakubu Gowon Hall, Palmgrove Estate, Lagos.
Ayodele was honoured alongside other youth leaders from the district.
Former National Public Relations Officer (PRO), National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the CEO of African Youth Initiative on Crime Prevention (AYICRIP), Ambassador Chris Ibe while presenting the award to the recipient described the honour as a testimony to the impactful youth development and initiatives spearheaded by the NYCN in Itire-Ikate and its environs.
Speaking at the reception, Ayodele expressed his gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira for his unwavering support to the youths.
He said, “My heartfelt gratitude goes to Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, for his support to youth development and especially for the platform given to me to showcase my skills. This, indeed is a rare opportunity! His unwavering support has been instrumental to the successes recorded by the NYCN in Itire-Ikate.
Also to my constituency, the NYCN, I say a very big thank you to all the executive committee, the members and all other stakeholders in the youth development.
A sincere appreciation is also extended to CELCE Africa for the recognition and celebration. This prestigious award on youth development is a motivation to continue to strive and contribute towards the betterment of the Community, State and Nation at Large; together we will achieve even greater milestones in the realm of youth empowerment and development.
I cannot but extend my special thanks to my charming and supportive wife, Mrs. Oshodi Anuoluwapo, for consistently tolerating my demanding schedule. I can’t appreciate you all less.
The honour is a call to do more. It is a call to service and I am using this medium to give my words to my constituency that I will continue to strive in the cause of the youths in the district and the state in general.
