Nationnewslead report that Barrister Seun Odofin has extended greetings to entire Nigerian citizens and Muslim community at home and diaspora on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, which marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, (SWT).
He also asked for prayers for Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Government-led Administration and other leaders across the country.
The 2023 National Assembly candidate for Ijesa North Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), congratulated all Muslim faithfuls for witnessing this year’s occasion.
In his message, the ex-aide to Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila at the Green Chamber expressed confidence that if well understood, Eid-el-Maulud is capable of promoting tolerance and mutual harmony amongst Nigerians.
The popular humanitarian and APC stalwart, admonished Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, serenity, tolerance and perseverance which are deep spiritual virtues that the Holy Prophet Muhammad exemplified.
Odofin said Prophet Muhammad was a humble, loving and leading servant who believed that there is no complete faith until we love for our brothers what we love for ourselves.
“Prophet Muhammad (SWT) was a great selfless prophet. A humble and loving servant who preached and lived by love all through.
I read a quote of him where he said “None of you believes (completely) until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”
“This is what the Bible also preaches where it was written that “Love your neighbour as you love yourself”. The 2 holy books are interwoven. A clear reference of love as the foundation of the world. Anyone therefore propagating hatred, disharmony, rebellion and other vices under the guise of any interests, doesn’t find his or her root from the Creator of creation.
So, on the occasion of this year Eld-el-Maulud, I plead with everyone regardless of his or her faith and ethnicity, to imbibe the spirit of love, serenity, tolerance and perseverance. This is the only way to achieve harmonious cohabitation which will open window of opportunities for a flourishing Nigeria as envisioned by our founding fathers.”
