The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Ogun State Branch, has called off its suspended strike following the fulfillment of payment for the revised CONMESS and new minimum wage by the State Government.

This was disclosed by the State Chairman, Dr. Luqman Ogunjinmi, at a press conference held in Abeokuta on Friday.

Ogunjinmi applauded the State Government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, for its unwavering commitment to the welfare of medical doctors serving in the State.

He stated, “Today, I stand before you to express our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, for fulfilling his promise to pay the revised CONMESS and minimum wage to our members. This gesture demonstrates the government’s commitment to the welfare of doctors working in Ogun State.”

He added, “You will all recall that members of the Association, during an Emergency General Meeting on July 23, 2024, resolved to embark on a strike on August 5, 2024, which was subsequently suspended on August 29, 2024, to allow for negotiations with the Government.”
