The people of Obokun Local Government Area in Osun State are mourning the loss of Hon. Alade Ogundare, a dedicated community leader and progressive politician. Known for his penetrating humor and sharp presence of mind, Ogundare was celebrated for his ability to uplift those around him.
In a heartfelt tribute, Dr. Thomas Ogungbangbe praised Ogundare, noting that his life was marked by selflessness and a commitment to the greater good. “His life’s journey showed ordered movements of a remarkable giver who prioritized the welfare of all over parochial and selfish interests,” Ogungbangbe said. He emphasized that Ogundare’s death is a significant loss not just for his family, but for the entire community.
A respected figure in the Ife/Ijesa axis of Osun, Ogundare served as the executive chairman of Obokun Local Government. He was lauded for his honesty, mutual trust, harmony, respect, dedication, and frankness. “He was a model of what decent men and women should be in both private life and public service,” Ogungbangbe added.
Ogundare was a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun, remembered for his strong spirit and positive impact on the community. Even as he approached death, he continued to exude vitality, leaving a lasting legacy among the residents of the council area.
