The long-standing feud between Nigerian comedians Basketmouth and AY has been reignited by the emergence of an old photo depicting the two together.
The duo has been at odds for the past 17 years over an incident that occurred in 2006. In a recent interview, AY claimed that he was not invited to Basketmouth’s wedding, despite his wife’s name being on the guest list.
Basketmouth vehemently denied the allegations, stating that he never invited AY or his wife to the wedding.
He also revealed that he had been warned by friends about AY’s deceptive tendencies, labelling him a “snake” that sheds its skin to become bigger.
Basketmouth also noted that there was no evidence of a friendship between them, including a lack of photos together.
However, an old photo of the duo has surfaced online, eliciting reactions from fans, including fellow comedian Bovi.
Bovi commented that the photo was taken in 2004 and hinted that Basketmouth was the celebrity who took a photo with a “fan,” AY.
The renewed interest in the duo’s feud highlights the enduring fascination with their rivalry among Nigerians.
