It’s an exciting moment for the organiser of the African Fashion Week London, Olori Ronke Ogunwusi, as she revealed a new dimension to the plan this year.
At a recent gathering in Lagos, the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi disclosed that this year’s edition will take place in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
Giving insight into the annual programme, the fashionista who used to run the rested Rukiz Clothing in Lagos hinted that the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria will be held in Lagos between the 7th and 9th of December, 2024 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos while the Africa Fashion Week London will take place on the 11th and 12th of October at the Kensington and Chelsea Conference and Events Centre.
Explaining that ‘adire’ will take centre stage at this year’s edition as she plans to infuse royalty into the design while showcasing what she considers an African identity, the AFWL founder claimed Africans are deeply stylish while reminding many of the aims of the event to promote creative talents in Africa.
