Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has turbaned Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the new Otun Imam of Iwoland.
Speaking at the event which took place at Oluwo Palace Central Hall, Iwo, Osun State on Wednesday, the monarch said, the appointment of Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the Otun Imam of Iwoland was divined.
He stated; “Adedeji’s appointment was unanimously approved in respect of the constitution and that his appointment is divine without constitutional controversy.
“His announcement and subsequent turbaning today followed due process after approval and endorsement by Oluwo. It was a collective decision with utmost fear of God and respect to the guiding constitution of the Mosque.
“I got on this throne as Oluwo on fairness. I’ve been guided by the same principle of fairness in approving any appointment since my enthronement. The same fairness produced Muhammed-Thanni AbdulMuhmin Adedeji as the Otun Imam today.
“I urge the Central Mosque in Council to cooperate with him, tolerate one another and let the fear of God be foremost. Be united to serve God with an open mind.”
It be recalled that the immediate past Otun Imam, Sheik Muhammad Ashim Ejalonibu died a few weeks ago. His demise necessitated the appointment of a replacement.
Muhammed-Thanni Adedeji hails from Akinlewa’s Compound, Molete Quarters, Iwo, Osun.
Otun Adedeji is a Master Degree holder(Islamic Studies ) from University of Ilorin and a doctorate student of Al-Hikma University, Ilorin, Kwara State studying the same course.
