All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has responded to allegations made by the Young Progressives Party (YPP) regarding the arrest of protesters in Akure.

In a statement, the APC denied any wrongdoing by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and emphasised that the safety and security of all residents is a top priority.

The party acknowledged that protesters have the right to peaceful assembly but noted that any actions that disrupt public order or violate the rights of others will be addressed by security operatives.

The APC urged all parties to engage in constructive dialogue and to avoid spreading misinformation.

“We remain committed to upholding democratic principles and protecting the rights of all citizens,” the statement read.

The response comes after the YPP alleged that the governor was involved in the arrest of protesters, a claim the APC denies. The APC’s statement aims to clarify the situation and reassure the public of their commitment to democracy and the rule of law.
