A youth group, Owo Progressives Youth, has called on the governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, to pick a woman of integrity as his deputy in the state.
The group, which specifically made the case for a deputy governor from Owo Kingdom, supported the choice of Hon. Grace Abebi Adeniseun as the next deputy governor of the state.
The group described Adeniseun, who is the Southwest youth coordinator for the National Association of Women Opinion Leaders, as a woman with proven integrity and passion for the development of the underprivileged.
In a statement issued and signed by the group’s coordinator, Adewale Idowu, who noted that Ondo State needs a woman with a track record like Adeniseun to work in tandem with Governor Aiyedatiwa to bring rapid development to the Sunshine State.
The group stated in the statement that “Grace Abebi Adeniseun is a formidable giant whose influence cuts across the length and breadth of the state and Nigeria at large.
” Her wisdom and trait of utilising experience with great innovation kept Owo in the scheme of governance. We can only appreciate her display of unprecedented foresight and her show of quality leadership.
“Ondo State needs a woman like Abebi to deputise Aiyedatiwa to ensure that Ondo State is moved to another level. The combination of the duo will change the narrative of the state in all areas.
“We recommend and put Abebi forward as our choice to either continue on the same trajectory that has placed us at the bottom of the community of sub-national governments or to make a clean break from the chains and commence an assured voyage into productivity, mass prosperity and bliss’
The group added that Abebi, who was the Southwest woman leader for the Tinubu Shetima Agenda in the last presidential election, worked tirelessly with others to ensure that President Bola Tinubu won the presidential election.
They maintained that such a great leader should be given the opportunity to use her wealth of experience in the private world of governance in Ondo State.
“We call on the party leadership to see reasons with us on the need to give the state a befitting deputy governor like Adeniseun Grace Abebi.”
