The Director of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC) on Diaspora Matters, Dare Aliu, has assured Governor Aiyedatiwa of victory in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, saying his excellent performance will give him victory in the election.

Aliu who said his confidence lies in the excellent performance of the governor in the last few months and his being supportive as deputy governor, saying his return for a second term will be a walkover.

He assured Aiyedatiwa of full support from Ondo State indigenes outside the country, considering the governor’s performance so far.

Aliu, who gave this assurance in a statement over the weekend, said Aiyedatiwa’s performance in office since he took over last December is cutting edge for him when full campaigns start.

He said “Here is a governor who upon assumption of office cleared all backlogs of unpaid salaries and has never owed any worker till date.

“He also began payment of palliative allowance to civil servants to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy and immediately worked out a technical palliative offer for those in the non-formal sector, by releasing a sum of N2 billion as soft loans for petty traders, peasant farmers, and young entrepreneurs”

Aliu noted that the state’s indigenes in the Diaspora were also enthralled by the free bus shuttles provided for school children and public workers by the governor, a gesture that cut across the 18 local government areas of the state.

“Based also on the governor’s eagerness to attract foreign investors to Ondo State, I, in concert with other concerned Ondo indigenes outside the country, have seized the initiative by inviting investors in the agricultural and manufacturing industries to bring huge investment to our state, and soon, these efforts will be yielding result,” he said

The Akure-born, US-based politician, however, assured the state governor of bloc vote in the state capital of Akure South and adjourning areas of Akure North, Ifedore, and Idanre local government areas.

He called on political actors in the coming election to eschew violence and engage in issue-based campaigns, “for the sake of peace and progress in the Sunshine State”.
