…….Ajibola Basiru, the national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made an emphatic declaration Nationnewslead report.
“In Osun State, I am resolutely committed to leading our people to greatness and the time for that transformation is now,” the former senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District wrote on Sunday, January 12, 2024.

He made the categorical statement in a social media post accompanied by a video where he credited Prophet Muhammad with the saying: “Muslims believe no one can become anything except God wills it. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stated in one hadith that if the world comes together to support someone, but it is not destined by God, they will not succeed. Conversely, if the world bands together to block someone, and it is not predestined by God, they will fail.”
The face of the APC in Osun State provided insight into how deeply he values the attribution to the “holy prophet,” explaining that “This powerful statement from our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has guided me since my youth, illuminating my path with wisdom and purpose.”
Basiru, also a former attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Osun State, as well as an ex-commissioner in the Ministry for Regional Integration and Special Duties, made Sunday’s pronouncement amid growing interest in who will become the APC candidate for next year’s Osun gubernatorial election.
He has been at the forefront of keeping the APC relevant since the party lost control of the state government to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2022.
Basiru is among those touted as likely to emerge as the APC candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
