Nationnewslead report that The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the immediate-past Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Ajibola Basiru on their election as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the APC respectively.
The duo of Ganduje and Basiru were elected by the 12th National Executive Council (NEC) of the meeting of the party in Abuja today following the resignation of Senators Adamu Abdullahi and Iyiola Omisore as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the party respectively.
Commenting on the development, the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the state capital today, noted that the election of the new national chairman and the national secretary is a perfect combination.
Lawal stated that the seamless exercise that produced the two new national officers of the party is an indication that internal democracy reigns supreme in the ruling party.
The Osun State party chairman disclosed further that the track records of both the new national chairman and the national secretary in both private and public offices are enough proofs of their abilities to excel in their new offices.
Lawal enjoined the other political parties to learn from the APC National leadership on how to integrate and sustain internal democracy in their own parties.
He explained further that the educational and professional backgrounds of the new national officers is a worthy asset for the diligent administration of the party.
In Lawal’s words: “We are endowed with human resources in our party and that’s why the change of leadership at any point in time therein is always without schisms.
“At this stage in the life of our party, I will therefore enjoin all the members of our party to pray ceaselessly for the continued wellbeing of our party in all ramifications.
“On behalf of the state executive officers of our party, the leaders and other members of the party, I am congratulating Dr Ganduje and Senator Basiru on their elections as the National Chairman and National Secretary of our party respectively.
“May God Almighty continue to grant you and other members of the NEC sound health, wisdom, knowledge and understanding required to function optimally in your new offices”, Lawal prayed.
