An aspirant for the Oriade State Constituency seat in the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Fanimokun Samuel Ibikunle, has called on the recently reinstated local government chairmen in the state to prioritize alleviating the suffering of the people, particularly at the grassroots level, by implementing measures that foster development.
In his statement, Fanimokun urged the chairmen to entrench good governance to improve the living standards of their constituents. He emphasized that effective governance at the local level could play a pivotal role in dislodging the current PDP administration, led by Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, in future elections.
Congratulating the chairmen on their reinstatement by the Appeal Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, Fanimokun noted that the judgment came at a crucial time for Osun State’s progress. “There could not have been a better time for this judgment because our people need liberation from the clutches of underdevelopment imposed by the current administration,” he stated.
Fanimokun further highlighted that the return of the APC council bosses provides an opportunity to implement policies and programs that would positively impact the lives of the people. He urged the reinstated chairmen to seize this moment to showcase their leadership capabilities and commitment to community development.
“Our people at the grassroots have suffered long enough under the maladministration of the current leadership in the state. Your return is a much-needed intervention to alleviate their hardship by introducing effective developmental policies and programs,” Fanimokun added.
He stressed that strategic governance at the local level would contribute to the eventual removal of what he described as the “visionless administration” of Governor Ademola Adeleke, calling for collective efforts to achieve this objective.
Fanimokun concluded by appealing to the reinstated chairmen to represent the APC effectively and work diligently to liberate Osun State in 2026. “Kindly represent us well by doing the right thing so that our state can be freed from the grip of those currently mismanaging its affairs,” he pleaded.
