As the 2027 general elections draw closer, a group of concerned citizens in Osun East Senatorial District has called on key political figures in the region to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The appeal was made to prominent lawmakers, including Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, Hon. Sanya Omirin, Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro, and Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, urging them to align with the ruling party in the interest of national development.

This call followed the recent meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some of the lawmakers, including Senator Fadahunsi, Senator Fadeyi Ajagunla, Hon. Busayo Oke, and Hon. Omirin, where they reportedly pledged loyalty to the President.
In a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo, the Coordinator of the group, Mr. Ogunmoroti Temitope, described President Tinubu as a round peg in a round hole, expressing confidence in his capacity to restore Nigeria’s pride among the committee of nations.
According to Ogunmoroti, “Tinubu has contributed immensely to the progress of Nigeria’s democracy and deserves the full support of patriotic Nigerians. It is not about sentiments but about credible leadership that transcends ethnic, religious, and political boundaries.”
The group emphasized the need for unity among politicians in Osun East, noting that a collective alignment with the APC would position the region strategically for national relevance and development.
“Asiwaju Tinubu has been a symbol of progressive politics across Nigeria. His role in reclaiming the South West from anti-democratic forces during the 2003 elections remains unmatched. We believe he is the right choice for 2027,” the group stated.
They further called on the lawmakers to demonstrate statesmanship by prioritizing national interest over personal ambition, especially at this critical time in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
In conclusion, the group urged political stakeholders in Osun East to close ranks, join the APC, and work tirelessly to ensure victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
