The Osun State Government and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday to focus on anti-corruption initiatives, public education, and activities designed to enhance integrity and accountability within the State.
Speaking at the program held at the state government house in Osogbo, the governor expressed his administration’s elation in partnering with the ICPC to deepen good governance, especially in terms of anti-corruption protocols.
According to him, anti-corruption agencies have delicate assignments that demand the support and cooperation of those in top government offices. “Our government is demonstrating this political will today by entering into a partnership with the ICPC on project monitoring and evaluation.”
“I have no doubt that this agreement will enhance existing quality assurance and expand the anti-corruption infrastructure within Osun State.”
“The ambitious agenda surprised both friends and foes when I announced the plan in December 2023. Many challenged our government on how and where we would secure the funding. The scale of the projects listed in the plan stirred much debate, as it is the first of its kind in the history of Osun State.”
“But we assured the public then that we would ensure full implementation of the infrastructure plan through financial discipline and a new approach to managing state finances.
Our government rolled out several initiatives, including the creation of special project accounts, plugging revenue collection leaks, increasing internally generated revenue, reducing overhead costs, and deliberately saving from government earnings.”

“Midway through the implementation period, I am pleased to report significant progress. The projects are progressing in line with the approved schedule, supervised by seasoned professionals in the field.”
“As the infrastructure plan is implemented in phases, the first phase has reached an advanced stage. Our government has transformed Osun into a major construction site benefiting all Senatorial districts and local governments.”
“Mr. Chairman, allow me to state that my sole ambition in this governorship is selfless public service. Having been blessed by God before assuming this office, my family and I are giving back to the people by ensuring judicious use of public funds and resources.”
“During the inauguration of my cabinet, I openly warned those with corrupt intentions to desist before it is too late. We rigorously vet financial approvals and enforce procurement laws without bias.”
