…. Threatens Legal Action

Nationnewslead reports that A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Awo/Abudo ward 1 councillorship aspirant in Egbedore local government, Olanipekun Lukman Adedeji has threatened to take the party to court if it fails to recognize him as the authentic candidate of APC in the forthcoming Osun 2022 LG polls.

Adedeji noted that despite scoring the highest number of votes in the party’s primary, his name was substituted for Oladejo Kabiru who scored the lowest number of votes in the primary.

While addressing newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun state capital on Sunday, Adedeji added that he had paid and obtained nomination form from Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) but the party obtained another nomination form for Oladejo.

He said, “When the primary election to elect our candidate was done, there were three of us who participated in the election and I got 173 votes, the second person Monshood Waheed scored 5 votes, while the third person Oladejo Kabiru got no vote at all.

“After that, I obtained nomination from OSIEC.

“All of a sudden, I heard that one Baba Ajao had asked OSIEC to substitute my name and replace with Oladejo, the man with no vote

“That is the injustice that has been allowed to thrive in the party”.

He then called on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Speaker of the House of Assembly, RT Hon. Timothy Owoeye and the Special Adviser on Political matters to the Governor, Hon. Sunday Akere to look into the matter stating he would approach the court to seek redress if nothing is done to the matter.

“I want to use this medium to appeal to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Speaker of the House of Assembly, RT Hon. Timothy Owoeye and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political matters, Hon. Sunday Akere to step into this matter and help to resolve it.

“The result of the primary election of the party is what should be used, otherwise I will be forced to approach the court to seek redress”, he added.
