Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has handed to the police, a 14-year-old girl, Pamela Ibe, who was allegedly trafficked from Enugu State to Ejigbo Local Government of the State.
The Anti Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration Unit of the security agency rescued the girl while roaming around the streets of Ejigbo after she escaped from captive. She was handed over to the Enugu Police Command.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Command, Olabisi Atanda disclosed this on Monday to our correspondent.
Atanda said that the young girl told the agency that she escaped from the captivity of a Benin national, identified as Samuel, who took her from Enugu.
The suspect, Samuel, was said to be into interior decoration, Plaster of Paris (POP).
The suspect, according to Atanda, allegedly visited the house of Pamela’s parents in Enugu and promised to take her to Lagos for hairdressing training. Samuel forcefully put a charmed bangle on Pamela’s wrist and she became unconscious. She later found herself at Ejigbo Local Government in Osun State.
Atanda said that the NSCDC command last Friday handed over Pamela to the Enugu police in good health and rightful state of mind.
The NSCDC boss in the State, Emmanuel Ocheja, however, called on parents and guardians to keenly watch over their wards and appealed to them to always know the whereabouts of their children.
