Nationnewslead reports that The Osun State Government on Saturday said the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, would henceforth be known as UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital.
The Commissioner for Education, Mr Folorunsho Oladoyin, announced the change in the name in a statement on Saturday.
The statement directed Osun State University to take over the College of Health Sciences and the former LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo to complement a Teaching Hospital donated by Mr and Mrs Modupe and Folorunso Alakija, which is under construction.
The statement read in part, “Osun State University has been directed to take over the College of Health Sciences and the former LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. The Government of the State of Osun has approved the renaming of former LAUTECH Teaching Hospital as UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo with immediate effect.”
